POSITION PROFILE

High execution, front-line outside sales position for Edelman Leather, a globally recognized brand, and a Knoll specialty business. This role is responsible for driving and managing territory opportunities by calling on designers across residential and commercial market segments, hospitality groups, purchasing agents, private aviation accounts and furniture dealers. Must work diligently to win or convert specifications to Edelman Leather products and follow though to secure the purchase order. To develop and strengthen the relationships within the assigned territory it is essential to be active within the A&D community and participate in networking events. Leather experience a plus but will consider other product-focused sales experience including furniture or textiles.

Qualitative Approach

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge Edelman Leather, its products and the leather industry
  • Navigate decision makers to establish a deep understanding of the Edelman client
  • Provide a central point of contact to clients for questions, answers, and project updates
  • Strategic Selling

  • Maintain continuous outreach and engagement in the field by calling on clients, making presentations, updating libraries and providing samples
  • Be a deal maker who asks for the business and wins orders by addressing project criteria with the right leather
  • Utilize sales initiatives to establish a pipeline of business to achieve sales and orders goals
  • Drive sales and business development by identifying qualified leads for new projects and clients
  • Engage and network with multiple influencers by attending industry events and trade shows as required
  • Process Administration

  • Schedule appointments, conduct presentations, issue quotes, secure purchase orders and track sample approvals
  • Ensure efficient product tracking for timely shipment and delivery
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on the territory, sales forecasting and pipeline management
  • Required Skills

  • Communicates effectively with all levels, in both written and verbal form
  • Required Experience
  • BS or BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience within the design and interiors market with proven track record and contacts
  • Ability to conduct and maintain sales activities in the field 5 days a week
  • Proficient working knowledge of Salesforce or another CRM tool and the Microsoft platform.
